Ingredients
6
tablespoons
butter
unsalted
1
and ½ cups self-rising flour
1
and ½ cups packed light brown sugar
1
teaspoon
pure vanilla extract
1
cup
pecans
1
and ½ cups granulated sugar
2/3
cup
whole milk
add more if necessary
1
and ½ cups hot water
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the butter in a 9x13-inch baking dish or casserole and let it melt in the preheated oven.
Once the butter has fully melted, scatter the pecans evenly over it.
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir gently to blend, but avoid over-mixing the batter.
Pour the batter evenly over the butter and pecans. Do not stir or mix the layers.
Sprinkle the brown sugar across the top of the batter, ensuring an even distribution. Again, refrain from stirring.
Carefully pour the hot water over the entire mixture without stirring.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top becomes golden brown and the cobbler is set.
Notes
Best served warm, and optionally, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
