Salmon Patties are a versatile dish that can be served as an appetizer or a main course. Made from baked salmon seasoned to perfection, these patties are shaped and pan-fried to a golden crisp.
Preheat your oven to 400˚F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the salmon filet on the prepared baking sheet with the skin side down. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F for doneness. Remove from the oven and allow to cool until safe to handle.
Once cool, flake the salmon using two forks and transfer it to a large mixing bowl, discarding the skin and any bones.
Prepare the Patties:
Add the eggs, minced garlic, chopped onion, bread crumbs, Old Bay seasoning, and kosher salt to the bowl with the flaked salmon. Mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
Shape the mixture into 8 patties, approximately 2 inches in diameter and ½-inch thick.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Place the patties in the skillet in a single layer. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
Cook each side of the patties for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
Transfer the cooked patties to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
Serve:
Serve the patties warm with optional garnishes like freshly squeezed lemon juice and tartar sauce.
Notes
These patties pair wonderfully with a crisp green salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal. Adjust seasoning as desired for personal taste preferences.
