Ingredients

  • 2 8-oz cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1-lb roll of breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  • Set your oven to preheat at 375ºF.
  • In a bowl, combine the cooked, crumbled sausage with the softened cream cheese until well blended.
  • Separate each crescent roll into triangles, and then slice each triangle in half lengthwise, creating two smaller triangles.
  • Using a small cookie scoop, place a portion of the sausage mixture onto each triangle and roll them up from the wider end toward the point.
  • Arrange the crescent rolls on a parchment-lined cookie sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.

Notes

Feel free to use turkey sausage as an alternative.
Pulsing the cooked sausage briefly in a food processor ensures a finer texture for the filling.
Reduced-fat cream cheese and crescent rolls are excellent substitutes for a lighter option, without compromising taste.
You can prepare the sausage and cream cheese filling up to three days ahead and store it in the refrigerator.
A pizza cutter works perfectly to halve the crescent triangles quickly.
These crescent bites can be served warm or at room temperature for equal enjoyment.
